Things I was going to post about at one time, but never actually did.

And there are a few of these.
One big thing I meant to post about was...our getting a kitty!
That's right, for about the past month now, Patrick and I have been very proud kitty cat parents.
And by proud, I mean scratched, bitten, attacked at random, and generally annoyed.
All cat-related wounds aside, we really do adore him. He was a farm kitten, from one of my friends, and we got him for free. So really, we can't complain.
And he's just sooooo darn cute.
See? Even you can't resist the cuteness
that is our kitty.
His name is Oliver by the way.
And he's four months old.
NO relation to the Disney movie, with the singing orange cat.
Although, I really liked that movie.

Anyways.
Moving on.
Thing the second that I was going to post about at one time but never actually did because I really am quite a lazy butt.
I made a pair of Fetching, from Knitty Summer 2006. It's true, they really did knit up in a weekend. And I LOVE them. I lovelovelovelovelove them. They're so warm, but I can still use all of my fingers. Pretty much all of my friends want a pair. I'm pretty sure this is my Christmas knitting.
Remeber that Red Heart Plum Pudding yarn? And I was going to make the cabled newsboy cap from SnB nation out of it.
Nixed.
I decided that as I don't really wear hats all that often, I'll put that one on the back burner for now. Plum Pudding got made into awesome fraternal gloves.
Did I mention how much I loved them!?

Last thing. I promise.
We (as in Patrick and I) finished another Blanket for Canada. I really love this one. Instead of sewing it, I crochet it, and I really like the effect that it gives. A nice smooth seam on one side, and a raised one on the other. It's all blue and green and white, and I really really love it.

See? See how pretty?
And it's huge too. Really ginormous. Okay, well, big enough for an adult.
The next one's already been started.
It's all various shades of pink.
And, I think that's about all for now, as I've commandeered Pat's computer, and I'm sure that he would like it back.
I'll be around. Or something.

d00d.

Holy schoolwork Batman.
So, for the past three years, I've been hearing about how senior year is totally hard course wise, and how I'd better be prepared.
Now, upon hearing this, I was thinking, "Alright, well, I'm coasting now, and my average is ninety something. I'll be fine."
Wrong much?
My classes this semester got totally screwed around.
I've got spare/concert band first block. That's cool. Sleep in three days a week, honk on my sax the other two.
Second block is Social Studies. I have always HATED Social with an extreme and fiery passion, unimaginable to most human beings. I can't remember dates, or who signed what treaty, and I really could care less about the unicameral system in Sweden.
Which, I think is what we're studying now.
I totally bombed the first test, which the teacher isn't counting (thank gods). 76%. Highest mark in the class. One of these things is not like the other...
Then is math.
Oh how I adore math. I really and truly do. I love the satisfaction of taking huge numbers and equations, and reducing them into nice, tidy answers. I love that I can look at a fraction or an exponent ,and automatically reduce it in my head in mere seconds, before my friends have even turned their calculators on. So math is good.
Now, here's where I got royally screwed. Because I'm a science-y girl, I decided to take ALL of the high school sciences. That's right folks, biology, chemistry and physics. I wrote my diploma for bio last year, and got a whopping 93. Which rocks.
Anyways, I signed up for chem and physics, along with calculus. Apparently, only five people did this, creating a dilemma of where to place the senior English class.
Long story short, I have to take English by Distance Education.
My past English teacher said I'm for sure a strong enough student to do this, I just have to be self motivated. But the thing is, for these writing assignments, it doesn't usually specify which type of writing. Essay? Journal? Informal? POEM!?
It's a tad bit infuriating. I typically write in a very informal manner, witha lot of satire.
I think what I need to do is find someone to read a bit of my writing, and maybe edit it or something. I think it's alright, but I'm not sure if my markers (who live like, 600 km away, wtf.) will think.
Any volunteers? (kidding)

Yeah, hi.

So, maybe you were beginning to wonder:
"Does Vik still knit?"
Or, maybe I'm just flattering myself, thinking that you think about me in your spare time.
So, whether or not you were wondering, yes, I do still knit.
I haven't posted about it in a while, but I do.
And, I even have a few finished (or half finished....) things to post about.
Isn't that dandy.

Alrighty.
Thing the first.
I finished a blanky!
Correction.
Patrick and I finished a blanky.
It is, without a doubt, the greatest thing ever.
My DIY webcam pics (yep, built it myself!) dont' really do it much justice. In real life, it's big, it's beautiful, and it's very warm.
And, it's about to be shipped off to someone who really needs it, which makes it even better.
Thing the second!
I have been working dillegently on the socks for my sister.
And by that, I mean I've been sitting in the back of all of my classes, knitting my cute little butt off. (And paying attention to my teacher's mouth words....)So now, I have one sock done, about 50% of th entire project. My only concern is how fast her feet grow. I'm not sure how long these will fit her for.
So, a full on front view and a side view. Also done with the crap webcam. And my lighting was bad.
But you get the gist.

Also, I got my International Scarf Exchange secret pal. We seem to have similar tastes in colour, which is good, because I'd hate to make a scarf that looks like vomit.
Haven't heard from my buddy yet, wondering if they're out there.....
More from me later. Now, work!
