Psyched

Alright, so I haven't posted in a while.
With good reason.
I've been working crazy hard.
Well, maybe not too hard. But a lot.

And, I've been trying to get the most out of my last few days of summer.
Not just summer, my last summer.
In some ways, I feel like I've wasted it.
I didn't see my friends as much as I wanted to, we didn't spend our last summer together.
But in another way, it's good.
We've all had a bit of time to do our own thing, and I think we've all grown up.
A lot.

Senior year is totally going to rock.
{stuff about knitting next post. And stuff.}

Oh Boy.

I've been a bad, bad little knitter, I have indeed.
Remember the part where I said "That's it! I've got too many projects to do! No more!" Or "I've got so much yarn, I'm not going to buy anymore this summer."
Of course you don't. Because, while I thought those words, I never actually uttered them. Because, by speaking them, I'd have to stick to them.
Thank god I didn't.
I may or may not have hit a yarn sale today. And I may or may not have bought more yarn for projects. Projects which I really need. *eyeroll*.
It wasn't so bad really.
There was some Bernat Handicrafter Cotton, 50 cents a ball. So I got two in Off White, because Patrick has absolutely NO dishcloths, and a big 'ol pile of dishes to do.
Second, there was some Bernat Softee Chunky, in Dark Blue. I found a pattern for a vest made from Bernat Solo, but I despise the way it feels when its all knit up. So I figured I'll do all the math to substitute this stuff instead.
Lastly, there was a ball of Red Heart Super Saver in Plum Pudding. I had no pattern in mind for it at all, but there was only one ball, and I liked the colour and...er....
So, I'm thinking of making it into the Cabled Newsboy Cap from Stitch 'N Bitch Nation. I saw Lolly's version of it, and thought it was cute. Generally, I don't wear hats, but if it turns out well....
I know that it isn't the best quality yarn, but it's all I can afford. And I need to feed my yarn appetite somehow. Besides, I don't want to spend a bundle on yarn for a project that's going to be worn all the time.
So there you have it folks. In the span of less than an hour, my project list has grown by about half. I think I'm going to spend the next two weeks before school knitting my butt off, because once school starts, I won't have much time.
I know I promised pictures, but I want to go knit now.

Home!

Well, my vacation is over. Poo.
I had the greatest time in Ontario with Patrick's family. And truth be told, those two weeks went by way too fast.
Man, I don't even know what I should write about. (Me? At a loss for words? Quelle Surprise!)
So, I stayed with his family, in the bunkhouse that Pat and his dad built last year. I met his siblings and his grandparents, as well as all of his friends. It was hot, hot, hot a lot of the time, and there was even a tornado (which just missed us...) I'll admit, I cried when it came time to leave. I really enjoyed being there. There's tonnes of pictures yet to come. I've got a bunch on my flickr account, and my other flickr account, and Patrick's sister has some on hers. Which I can't remember just now....
Downside to the trip.... my bag came off the luggage carousel in pieces. Looked like someone had taken a straight razor to the sides of it and got slash-happy. I'm pretty sure all of my stuff is there though. But I really liked that bag :(
And....even though I had booked today off from work, and even called (or rather, had my mom call, I was still sleeping) to reiterate that I would NOT be coming to work today, I still have to go. They've shortened my shift a little bit, but I'd just as soon stay home, and argue with customer services about my bag.
But, it's all good. I've got to shower, and do some laundry. I'll go to work, come home, and start cleaning my room to get ready for my last year of school. Which I'm crazy excited for.
I'll try to catch up on reading what's been going on with everyone, but no promises :P
Pictures next post!
*EDIT*
I forgot one of the most exciting things! There was a store in Bracebridge, the next town over, a wonderful, wonderful yarn store. As a lovely pressie, the family gave me a kit from that store, because they saw me admiring the model in the store. It was this. This pretty tank top from Katia, made in Arc en Ciel yarn, which is incredibly soft. The yarn is #10 on this sheet. I'm pretty much going to start it right away, but I might leave out the crochet flower.
