It's over!

Yes, that's right, exams are OVER.
Done.
FINITO.
And I could not be happier!
So, in celebration, I'm going to do what everyone else seems to be doing.
No, not drinking. I'm too young for that.
That "Six weird things about me" meme thing.
Here goes.
1) I cannot properly pronounce words with the letters "ula" in that order.
Example: Calculator, Ambulance, Dracula, Formula.
They come out like "Calcleeator, Ambleeance, Dracleea, or Formleea.
I've been through therapy for this. It did not help.

2) Even though thunderstorms REALLY scare me, I totally love them.
There is nothing I like better than watching lightening tear across the sky, and hearing thunder shake the windows of my house.

3) I love Mickey Mouse. I'm not quite as obsessed as I used to be.
But there's definitely something super magical about him, that I really love.

4) I still sleep with my stuffed Mickey Mouse. I've had him since I was born, and it is
physically impossible for me to sleep without him. Seems weird and juvenielle, but
it's true.

5) I have funny sneezes. They sound like cat sneezes, and are accompanied by much frantic
arm waving.

6) I have broken all of my fingers, and all of my toes. And most of them are now growing
in a slightly crooked fashion. Which is fine, as long as it never inhibits my knitting.

In other news, I've more books to add to my list, and have decided to expand the criteria to include all books, not just novels.
Tomorrow's the first day of semester 2, and I just worked a loooooong shift.
So, it's sleepies for me.

100!

One hundred.
That is how many novels I plan to read this year.
And since 1) Blogger has gone completely bonkers and apparently hates me with the fire of a thousand suns (10 Things I hate about You anyone?)
and 2) I'm too lazy to tinker with the code to make another sidebar list
I'm going to keep track of them in this post.
There are a few stipulations. They must be novels, and they mustn't be re-reads. All new books!
Eventually, they will make it into the sidebar.
I promise.
So, without further ado, here are the beginnings of my list.
1) Rainbow Boys
Alex Sanchez
2) The Quilter's Apprentice
Jennifer Chiaverini
3) Round Robin
Jennifer Chiaverini

Yup. That's about it so far.
But right now, I'm in the middle of "The Tracey Fragments", "Round Robin", "Rainbow High"
(which isn't as cheesy as it sounds) and "City of Golden Shadow".
The whole working in a library thing helps too. I love it when people bring their books back, and tell me that I simply must read them.

In other news, I wrote my math diploma yesterday. Math has always been my best/favorite subject, and I found it to be very easy. Hopefully, I did as well as I think I did.
I was wrong about it bieng my last diploma. I forgot that I have English and Social part B.
English is on Thursday, and is just reading comp. Social is on Friday, and is a bunch of multiple choice questions. I'll need to study for that one. Which will be hard, considering I've got a new, secretive knit on the go.....
Till next time!

The Final Push

Bad knitter.
Bad.
I haven' t posted lately. At all. But there is a good reason for that.
I recently lost a good friend of mine, and I've been pretty shaken.
We were pretty good friends when we were little, and I regret that we did not talk more after he moved away.
Miss you forever Brendan. <3
In addition, semester is almost over, and I've got diplomas to study for.
See, there's this silly thing about the way Alberta sets up its exams that I don't agree with.
You work all semester in class, for a mark that is worth only half of your final grade.
The other half? It comes from one test. Each test has a written and a multiple choice component. This semester, I've got English Honours, Social Honours, and advanced math. English involves writing two essays, one of four pages, one of eight, in three hours, plus an hour and a half of reading comprehension at a later date. Social involves one essay in two hours, and seventy multiple choice questions. Math is written response and multiple guess.
Needless to say, I'm totally stressing about this. I wrote one diploma last year, as I took senior biology in my junior year. And I will admit - it wasn't as big and ugly as everyone made it out to be. I did quite well actually, 93 on the multiple, 100 on the essay, 94 in the course. But it's my nature to freak out a bit.
On the knitting front, I've been steadily progressing on the Arc en Ciel tank. I've finished the back, and am about half done the front. After that, I just have to seam it, and pick up stitches for the armholes and collar. I've completely abandoned the socks for both my father and my sister. Her feet grew, and I've got to rip the first one back to make it longer. Dad's socks are absolutely massive, and miles of stockinettte really bore me after a while.
I'm almost done another Blanket for Canada. In fact, a co-worker of mine took some, and managed to produce three! That brings our total count up to five and three quarters. I've definitely got to look into donating them fairly soon here.
Last, I have my New Year's resolutions. First, I resolve to read at least fifty books this year. Second, I resolve to get myself back up to a healthy weight. Third, I will make all of my squares into Blankets for Canada, and fourth, I will destash.
The boyfriend has been bugging me about how my stash has grown, and how it's beginning to take over my room. I will admit, I have enough in there for at least two sweaters, three pairs of socks, as well numerous scarves and other accessories. And I have this weakness for it. So, I've joined Knit from your Stash 2007. However, I plan to tweak just one rule. Rather than going until September, I'm going until June 29, 2007, my graduation date.
Mostly because after that, I'm off to Toronto for university. And I cannot resist those yarn shops.

So, you probably won't hear from me until sometime after the 22, which is when I write my last exam. Looking forward to next term - Calculus, Physics and Chem! My kind of subjects!
