Happy Birthday to......ME!

Yep, that's right. Yesterday was birthday day here at Chez Vik.
And boy what a day it was!
See, it all started when I woke up about 9:30. (First weekend off in 9 weeks!!!)
It seemed to me that Mom was making an awful lot of food.
I mean, she usually makes a lot, but this was weird.
Then my Patrick shows up, and asks if I want to go for a walk.
We walked a bit, but everytime I asked to go back home, he'd change the topic, or take me somewhere else.
Now, I'm not a stupid girl, and figured that something had to be going on.
I tickled as much information out of Patrick as I could, but I was still lost.

When we got home and came downstairs "Surprise!" There was everyone!
My friends (er...three of them...)my family, and a pinata!
And cake!
(Pictures of all on my flickr page...)
Then pressies!
Normally, I really hate being the center of attention, and I always feel a bit guilty about recieving pressies, because so many people don't. And so, I am quite grateful for the many wonderful things I did receive.
From Mom and Dad, a yellow duffel bag. If you remember, mine was eviscerated. Inside there were some earings, socks, and a set of jammies.
From the sister was a KnitWit doodle loom and a homemade bag to carry all of my knitting around in.
My friend J.R. brought a pair of Minnie Mouse ears, and a brightly coloured lollipop!
And from Emma, two burnt C.D.'s featuring Dane Cook, my favorite comedian.
OH! And Patrick. Who was a bit of a butt. He decided that I needed a real digital camera, and an orange one at that. He's a bit of a turd, as he spent quite a bit of money on it. But I'll admit, I love it, and it will get a lot of use.
Best of all, it's good motivation to get some knitting done, so I can take some great FO pictures!
And tonight, he cooked me a wonderful dinner, which was soooo tastey!

But now, I'm off to hit the books, I've got a lot of math to do.
I'll be around.

Happy Thanksgiving!

If you're Canadian that is.
Yes, today was our thanksgiving. We celebrated yesterday.
It was sooooo good! There was turkey (I had to eat some Mom said, even though I'm a veghead), and potatoes, and brussel sprouts (little green brains) and turnip and corn and my beloved stuffing.
I adore stuffing.

So, we got the day off school today. Mom and I went to Calgary, to go birthday gift shopping.
That's right folks, birthday at Chez Vik is right around the corner! (This Saturday, I'll be seventeen, just in case you were wondering.)
I got two pair of awesome pants (for $20!) and a hoodie (also $20). Which was pretty great. Lunch was good too. I had some sort of amazing veggie sub.
I worked on the second sock for my sister (yay alliteration!), and my ISE scarf, which is over halfway done. I hope.
But now my feet hurt, and I need to shower, and I've got an essay to write.
Way to be a downer, huh?
Well, at least I've got my stuffing!
I'll be around.

Well, I did it.

Yep. I just could not stay away.
That's right folks, I signed up for Socktoberfest.
Now, I know, some of you are thinking "You've got an awful lot on the go now Vik."
But really, I don't. And Socktoberfest is AWESOME motivation to do all my Christmas sock knitting.
Because, I have a sock to finish for Allie, a pair to knit for my dad, and maybe my mom, and if those dont' tide me over, a pair for myself.
I made my extensive list of "To make" gifts today.
I plan to make my dad some socks, which he keeps asking for, and a pair of jammie pants.
Allie's probably getting socks, a scarf, and either a hat or gloves, I'm not sure yet.
Mom is difficult. I'm leaning towards cozy jammies, and maybe a pair of Fetching gloves.
And then there's Patrick.
I haven't got much to do for him.
Maybe socks. Maybe jammies.
He'll have to sign a knitual for sure.
Anyways, all this talk about knitting is making me want to .... knit.
I'll be around
